Dice rolls are rigged. Unbelievable how many doubles the game rolls when it needs to beat you.

Okay, this recent update (October 2016) has ruined the game for me. Now the game always starts in the reverse of where Ive previously set it up. If I switch it back to the way Im used to playing, the next time I open it its set up wrong again! What happened??? My previous review: I have enjoyed playing this game for some time now. Unfortunately, its developed an annoying glitch recently. I get badges saying that there are games to play, when no games exist. It started as only one phantom game, but suddenly there are 2 phantom games now. What is wrong?

Good game. One of the more challenging backgammon aps I have played.

A total waste of time and money---unless you want to torture yourself playing against a bot that can see all of your upcoming rolls (and its own) before you ever roll the dice. Go get a root canal. Itll be more fun than playing this game.

I used to play netgammon8 and gnubg. Now this is all I need.

I have played thousands of games on this app, love it for a short time killer. I strongly suspect the AI does look ahead at my future dice rolls. I have seen it move off a covered point to cover a different point and then my dice rolls keep hitting the just covered point. There was no logical reason to move off the covered point, unless it knew I needed that point in the future.

Its OK, but given the other backgammon games around, it doesnt have much competition. The computer doesnt so much get harder to beat, it just gets mind-boggingly lucky, therefore impossible to beat no matter how good you are.

I play backgammon a lot and I like this app because I think the rolls are fair and the hints help you learn. Not too many other games let you see the hinted move. I study this and become a better player because of it.

I have to ask: how does AI get four doubles while bearing off, three out of four consecutive games? A partial solution if AI just keeps on magically kicking your butt: Turn off doubling. AI rarely ever loses, once it has doubled you. So, removing that option for the codes logic removes some of your disadvantage. Bearing off! Bearing off! He always gets incredibly fortunate rolls. Whats the point???? Is randomness so hard to achieve? Opponent gets off the bar in one roll. For me, its often 8 to 10, and thats with him filling in two or three points in his home court. Opponent gets doubles bearing off. I dont. Dont expect a normal distribution of rolls. That aint happening! Never accept opponents double. You will lose EVERY time. Turning off doubling option seems to help some. Ive been writing these bad reviews for years. Its still true, despite developers claims to contrary. I continue to play this app because there simply is no other app that comes close. Its sad that it cant achieve simple randomness to provide more satisfying play. How hard can that really be?

Really good AI with 4 levels. Cool stats and analysis features.

The computer makes moves that no human player would take. Also the "hints" it offers is the same - no reasonable player would ever make those moves. Computer also gets the perfect roll nearly every time while I get stuck with really bad ones. Especially infuriating when I ask for a hint, take the suggestion and then computer gets the exact roll to know me off. 1 star because its a pretty looking app but just too unreal to be a legit game.

I think as you move from beginner to expert, game takes advantage of much better set of dice. Its ridiculous how often this happens. From way behind it hits the magic and enjoys 4 same pairs in a row to remove all pieces! Other than that its a well made game

Dont listen to the cheating allegations because the arguments there are flawed. The AI is programmed to make mistakes randomly, just as humans do unless youre playing on Expert where no mistakes are made. I can beat Hard mode the majority of games although occasionally Ill need to play the hint. This is not an easy game to master. Playing this app has definitely increased my level of game play. Awesome app!!

I struggle to figure out why the game looks ahead. It definitely does, but cant get behind any reasoning to program such behavior. There is no benefit to the dev to have the game play ahead, as if they get more money if the game keeps better stats. I maintain a decent record on hard, and stay ahead. It is still frustrating though, to have obvious predictions made on the AIs part. Ive had many instances of obvious gammon/backgammon, where exact rolls were needed to get out, which were given, then exact doubles in a row just to save gammon by one roll. Ive even had that scenario several times in a row. Also, AI doubles, then heroically gets exact rolls to cover all vulnerabilities and cover all my advantages without missing a roll for several rounds. As stated, these instances are not constant, as I maintain a winning record on hard; but, its enough to be frustrating. I also understand that true randomness allows for such occurrences. The problem lies where the stats for dice rolls stay at average when these things are taking place. The way around that is by loading you up with doubles, or rolls needed, after the opportunity has passed. All that being said, its still the best bg game Ive found.

Biggest POS ever! The computer can have one spot covered while you have a prime of five and he will manage to get out and hit you and you cant get back in off the bar five, 6-12 rolls later. This is been repeatedly reported. The only BG program that was ever worth a crap was World Play! After that theyve all gone downhill. And screw electronic arts for buying out that site just to close it down to run their horrible one that I think is long gone! And who wants to take her off the game in order to be able to chat? You seriously couldnt designed the game where there was a chat bar at the bottom? Go back to school Junior! I think this guys trying to make up for having a tiny dick!

I wish I could find an app that is as easy to use as this one is. Love that it is not cartoonish and it is quick and easy to use. But..... In the higher hardest levels it cheats. Which is sad if you want a challenge.If there is only one combination it can to get out of any jam, it will roll them every time. If you are try to re enter the board on the computers side as they are winning you will land on a single 1/30 of the time, while you will always roll where you have leave a single and the computer is going to roll it! I dont know all the technical terms and I hope this all makes sense but just know it cheats!
